Killer PT

Filed under: USMC, Physical Training - leatherneck @ 21:33

This morning we had a stomach wrenching PT season. It even kicked my ass. On the way back I almost puked twice. It was great. We did what we call grass drills. We had on Boots, UT’s (Trousers of Utility Uniform) and Flak (Flack Jacket). We started off by picking two teams. Then at the start the teams formed up to do squad pushups. Squad pushups are when everyone lines up in a single line behind one another. The man in front places his legs on the back of the man behind him. Then all in sync the teams did a set of 20 pushups. The team then fireman carried each other 30 yards. Where the teams did pythons. A python is where one man stands with his hands on him head, and another man climbs on the first man and crawls around kind of like a monkey. Each team did ten pythons for each member. Then each team did pistol belt drags. A pistol belt drag is where one man lays on his back and grips the other teammates belt. Then the top man crawls, dragging the lying man. Each team dragged another team member for another 30 yards. Then came Chinese sit-ups. Chinese Sit-ups are different form regular sit-ups in one way. Instead of just touching your arms to your legs and lying back down, the Marine does a sit-up and then stands up straight. Each team member did 20 Chinese sit-ups. Assisted Sit-ups followed this. Assisted Sit-ups are where one man is down on all fours. Then the other man sits on the first mans back facing away from the first mans head. The second man then interlocks his leg under the first mans. The second man then leans back, and then performs a sit-up. Each team member did 20 of these. Then we did 30 yards of wheel barrels to the next event. Wheel barrels are simply when one man grabs another mans feet and then they both walk to the destination. The next destination was the pull-up bars. Each team had to do a total of 150 pull-ups. When another team member was on the bar, the other team members had to do crunches. After completing all 150 pull-ups the team then performed Log hops. A Log hop is where a team lays down on the ground an arms distance from each other. The last man on the end then does a pushup and hops over the next man in line doing almost a belly flop. He then repeats this till he gets to the end of the line. At the same time as soon as he hops over one man, that man then gets up and follows suit till the entire team moves 30 yards. At the next station the team had to perform 20 Monkey Humpers. A monkey humper is when one grabs his ankles and proceeds to do a squat. But without letting go of there ankles. (Just watch monkeys screw ok) The team then had to do squad lunges for another 30 Yards. At this station the team had to do a set of 20 midge jacks. The only difference between midget jacks and jumping jacks is that with midget jacks you squat down when you do the jacks. This followed with 3 minutes of running. As soon as the 3 minutes where up, we then had to low crawl a final 30 yards. But then two of our teammates died (Not really) and we had to drag them while we low crawled. I just want to say this whole evolution lasted over an hour, and it sucked my left testicle. It broke off everyone. Everyone was hurting because it played on any weakness you had. The only way to finish was teamwork. Which I have to say my team had much better teamwork. We won but not by much. I just want to ask this. Is there something wrong with me, because I want to do it again?
